The TEMPEST series is a pneumatically operated spear gun of extraordinary manageability and power. The cross section of the barrel is cylindrical and undergoes a particular surface treatment for preventing corrosion ageing. After special tests in a salt mist, lasting the equivalent of a continuous immersion in sea water of around 10 years, the barrel presents no signs of ageing.
The newly designed frame is in a knock and wear resistant material with a new ergonomic pistol grip in soft thermoplastic rubber. The colour of this grip helps the fisherman to locate it from the surface when the weapon has been abandoned in deep water.
The head is made of nylon for the first part to allow the hooking up of the line, and in aluminium alloy at the muzzle of the gun, with enlarged vent holes which allow the discharging of the water while minimising the braking effect on the piston during the shot.
The release mechanism is made of high strength metals and technopolymers. Again the line release mechanism is an OMER rotary concept. It is equipped with a 8 mm single barb, spring steel shaft. It also comes complete with an original OMER loader and pump.

Loading
The TEMPEST spear gun is loaded by holding the pistol grip against the thigh and pushing the shaft into the barrel utilising the loader.
