Royse Jackson

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to IDC's website and hopefully our training facility. I have been a part of the business since its conception and in that time I have met a lot of great divers from all backgrounds. I am very passionate about diving and I want everyone to get the most out of their experience with IDC. I have been involved in the diving industry for over 20 years and am always learning new things from all the great staff I have around me.

Alan Johnson

Alan has become IDC's primary resource for equipment information. He is one of our most active divers as he is constantly upgrading his skills in and out of the water. He recently completed his GUE Cave 1 in Mexico and is currently conducting IDC's Divemaster programme. Alan fulfills many roles at our shop and is one of the best technicians to have worked at IDC. Alan always has time to try to help you become a better diver, either by going out with you on a dive or evaluating your equipment configuration to make it better for you.

Marc Viloria
PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer Emergency First Responder Instructor
Marc is joinng us from Dubai (UAE) where he taught diving for 4 years. He has been diving all around the world since 1994 and is a professional photographer who has many of his underwater work published. He is excited to start diving in our BC waters and is a welcome addition to our staff. Marc also holds an Electrical Engineering degree.

Kelsey Dodds
PADI DiveMaster
Kelsey trained and worked as a Divemaster in Mexico while finishing her Degree in Environmental Sciences. Now graduated, she is working with IDC and is very excited to be on the west coast. Originally from Calgary, and used to diving in the cold mountain lakes of Alberta, she is always thrilled to head out for a day of diving in the rich environments that BC has to offer. Kelsey looks forward to continuing her dive training with IDC and to help educate and assist other divers.

Martyn Bayne
PADI Course Director
Martyn became a Course Director in 2009 after completing an extensive training course in the Dominican Republic with the VP and Director of Training at PADI and associated staff. As a recently qualified Course Director this means that Martyn is trained in the most up to date PADI training skills and philosophies.
Martyn commenced diving in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia in 1998 and has dived, on average, more than once per week since then. He has trained and worked with 5 different Course Directors undertaking Instructor Development Training Courses in both warm and cold water. Martyn has an unparalleled understanding of the different styles of Instructor training.
Martyn is also a registered Professional Engineer in British Columbia and is the only practising Course Director in the Lower Mainland with a Masters of Business Administration.

Braden Haggerty

Braden Haggerty has been using IDC as her dive shop for several years now. She has been working in the film industry specializing in underwater filmmaking since 1993. To expand her horizons and be in the water more she decided to get her dive instructors ticket and teach. She has been enjoying it and is now working for the same shop she uses for all her diving needs.

Jason a Professional Engineer has been diving with IDC for many years. He is recently partaking in the GUE Fundamental Course and is offering all his experience in diving by teaching the Advanced Open Water Course.

Over the past 5 years Landon has Instructed for IDC. Over the course of that time he has become one of our primary Open Water instructor. Landon's natural exuberance and flair for education make him a favourite among students who will often request him for further diving education. Landon is currently working on his teaching certificate at UBC and will be around to continue his involvement at IDC.

Emily Edmonds
PADI Open Water Instructor (Specialty Instructor) PADI Emergency First Response Instructor
Emily did much of her dive and instructor training with IDC. She currently is instructing for IDC and working part-time in the store while continuing her post-secondary education. Emily enjoys leading IDC fun dives and trips and brings energy to the site even on early mornings. She is committed to the local dive community along with the rest of IDC’s staff.

Sara McNay

Sara has come to IDC after living and diving in Europe and Asia for the last 7 years. She is a PADI Open Water and EFR Instructor. Her diving interests include underwater videographer and conservation. She is happy to be back in Vancouver to explore some of the diving BC has to offer and is looking forward to educating divers while furthering her own dive training.

Dan MacKay
GUE Tech 2 Instructor
* Dan has been an avid diver since being initially certified as an open-water diver in 1993. Soon after that time he quickly tired of the recreational ranges of diving and began experimenting with more technical dives leading up to the full trimix in the 1998. He became a GUE instructor in 2000 and now teaches Fundamentals, Tri-ox, Tech I and Tech II programs. Dan dove almost exclusively in the Great Lakes and St Lawrence region of Canada for 17 years with the occasional foray abroad mostly to Florida or Mexico for cave diving. He recently moved to Bashaw, Alberta and intends to make the west coast his diving destination of choice and call IDC his home away from home
* Trained as a software engineer coupled with an extensive background in electronic communications, Dan is applying cutting edge technologies to the underwater realm to produce various multi-media products with is two passions of underwater video and Photography
* Dan is also very involved in developing a strong DIR community here in Vancouver and is setting up a DIR Demo Day in Late September and early October.

Kirk Krack
Performance Freediving Founder/President & Instructor
Kirk developed PFI back in 2000 after training his first diver to a world record. He has gone on to coach 6 people to over 20 World Records and has coached the Canadian Freediving Team to many victories. He is known as one of the top Freediving Trainers in the World. Kirk has a back ground in both SCUBA and as an Instructor Trainer for Technical Diving.

Mandy-Rae Cruickshank
Performance Freediving Instructor & Student Relations
Mandy-Rae has taught with PFI for over 6 years. She is a 7-time World Record holder and 13 time Canadian National record holder. She is also a Course Director for Scuba and a 2009 inductee into the Women Divers Hall of Fame.
