Port Hardy Trip 2012Date: April 6th to 9th 2012Price: $789.95Description:Come discover the best temperate water diving on Earth with IDC! Easter weekend we are heading up on our annual Port Hardy/Browning Pass excursion. This time of year generally boasts fantastic visibility (60-100ft/18-30m is typical) in the area. We are staying at Browning Pass Hideaway operated by John DeBoeck who knows the tides and dive sites better than anyone else in BC with 30 years experience running dive operations on BC’s Central and North Coast. You can expect to dive one of the most famous dive sites on the planet, the renowned Browning Wall which boasts more colour than a warm water coral reef. It is frequently described as hosting “life upon life” with pink soft coral, finger sponges, tube worms, a variety of anemones, nudibranchs, other invertebrates and fish such as red irish lords and decorated warbonnets vying for habitat on the vertical wall from the intertidal zone to greater than 100’/30m in depth! Other sites include Rock of Life; the immensely popular Seven Tree Island; expansive Hussar Point; Hunt Rock and Croker Rock/The Wreck of the Themis, a natural, century-old wreck which is home to numerous wolf eels and octos (just follow Ness – she knows where they live) and, if we’re lucky, some curious Sea Lions. It’s true what they say: you haven’t truly experienced BC diving until you’ve done Browning Pass! Topside, expect plenty of filling comfort food, cozy cabins, ample stunning scenery (bald eagles, porpoise, hummingbirds and sea otters are the closest neighbours). We will also have access to kayaks, a canoe, and beautiful hiking trails on the nearby Nigei Island. Trip includes: This trip includes all diving, aluminium tanks, weights. It also includes lodging, all meals, beverages (except alcohol), access to kayaks, a row boat, and great hiking trails. Guaranteed to see all the Bald Eagles you ever want to see. Also the best diving in BC period! |
